The Centre for Communication Design is a knowledge hub associated with the Department of Communication Design at the Hong Kong Design Institute. The Centre bridges theory with real world practices and applications, combining curricula teaching with professional consultancy and applied research projects undertaken by faculty.
We conduct applied research and consultancy projects on how people interact with graphic communications: how they respond emotionally and search for information, whether they understand the message, and are able to use the information to take relevant actions.
We conducted the study to discover whether the current English-language typographic specifications are adequate to be adapted to the Traditional Chinese language version across HSBC’s digital products in Hong Kong
We are keen to work with private- and public-sector organisations from all disciplines to improve graphic communication and user experience for print, digital and spatial environments. We can lend a research angle to your project, and can engage in-house expertise and students in its realisation. We would also be happy to collaborate with you on research and development projects.
